What DockLedger does

The console, the floor apps and the outside doors, on one record instead of a spreadsheet.

Last updated

DockLedger is the record of what happens at your dock. Carriers book a slot, drivers check themselves in on their own phone, your team sends them to a bay, and every minute of it lands on one board the whole site can see. When the lorry is unloaded the same record carries on with the stock: what was declared, what actually came off, which slot it went into, which pallet should be picked next, and which lorry it left on.

It replaces what most sites use instead: a shared spreadsheet, a clipboard on the gate, a WhatsApp group and somebody’s memory. The reason to bother is that when a carrier disputes a waiting-time charge six weeks later you have the timestamps, and when a customer asks why they got stock two days off code you can show which pallet was picked and why.

There are three kinds of screen, and each is for different people.

  • The console is what the office uses at a desk or on a yard tablet: the control room, live bookings, the yard, goods in, stock, the pick board, goods out, orders and buying. It opens at dockledger.app/app.
  • The floor apps are what people carry: driver check-in, the goods-in checker and goods-in bench, pick, load, count, the cutting room, the bench station and the reach truck. Each is a web link on a phone, a scanner gun or a bench PC, so there is nothing to install. A scan on the floor is the entry in the office; nothing is typed twice.
  • The outside doors are for people who do not work for you. Carriers and suppliers get a private portal link to book slots and send paperwork ahead; customers get a login to place orders; drivers scan the gate sign. None of them takes one of your seats.

Every screen updates for everyone as things happen, with no refresh. If the office wants a number rather than a screen, the console assistant answers questions about your own site from your own figures, and DockLedger can write invoices and bills into Xero or Sage (see Integrations).

You only see what you use

A cross-dock with no racking has no business showing a Stock tab. Under Workspace tools on Plan & billing an owner or a manager can switch off anything this site does not do, and its pages leave the rail for everyone. Nothing is cancelled and no record is lost; switch it back on and it is all still there.
