How do I get help?
Press Help: the life ring at the top of the console, or the Help button in the corner of the carrier portal and the ordering pages. Ask your question there, or choose Talk to a person to write to the team. You can also search the manual and write to us at dockledger.app/support. A person answers within four hours, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00 UK time, and the reply comes back in the panel under Your tickets and by email.
Do drivers need to install anything?
No. They scan the QR code on your gate sign with the camera their phone already has, and the check-in page opens in the browser in their own language. If they close it, scanning the sign again brings them straight back.
Do carriers and suppliers need an account?
No. Their private portal link is the whole credential, so there is no login and no password. Each link lasts ninety days unless you renew it from their card on Contacts, where you can also pull it. Customers who place orders are different: they get a login of their own, from Give portal access on the customer's card.
How do I get a floor app onto a scanner or phone?
Open the account menu, choose Mobile apps, pick the app and press Hold it up. Point the device's camera at the square on screen and tap the link that appears; there is nothing to install. The person using it signs in with the username and password you made for them on Users & team.
Our supplier doesn't print proper pallet labels.
Print a run of your own pallet plates on the goods-in side and stick one on each pallet as it comes off. The checker scans the plate, chooses the product and counts the cases. Reconciliation then runs on product and batch rather than the supplier's pallet number, and everything after it, put-away, the rack plan and picking by date, works the same.
Something is missing from my navigation.
Check four things. Company settings such as Site, Users & team and Plan & billing are in the account menu at the top right, not the rail. Your role may not include it: only owners and managers open Plan & billing. Your site may have switched it off under Workspace tools, which hides it completely. Or it is not on your plan, in which case it still shows, with a lock on it.
A contact is showing as the wrong type.
Open it on Contacts, press the pencil and change They are a. It matters more than it looks: the type decides which deliveries their portal link shows them, and only a customer can be given an ordering login. A supplier filed as a carrier would look for its deliveries under the wrong name and find none.
Can one company be both a carrier and a supplier?
Yes, a producer that runs its own lorries often is. Add it twice, once of each type, and give each its own portal link. Each link shows that side of the business.
Can two sites share one workspace?
Use one workspace per site. Open the account menu, choose Your workspaces and press Add another site; switching between them there reloads the console, because each workspace has its own team, stock, plan and bill. Mixing two sites into one makes every screen harder to read.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Driver check-in and the floor apps (the checker, pick, load, count, the cutting room and the reach truck) are built for a phone or a scanner gun first. The goods-in bench and the bench station are meant for a PC at the bench with a scanner, a scale or a label printer. The office console works on a phone, though the wide tables are easier on a tablet or a desktop.
What happens on the floor if the signal drops?
The floor apps hold what was scanned on the device and send it, in order, when the signal comes back, and the screen says the scan is queued rather than done. If the office refused something in the meantime, a batch put on hold for example, the app stops and says so to the person holding it. Nothing is dropped without a word.
I lost my phone and cannot get the two-step code.
Press Use a recovery code on the code screen and type one of the eight codes you kept when you turned two-step sign-in on. That turns two-step sign-in off for your account, so you can sign in with your password and set it up again on the new phone. If the recovery codes are gone too, ask your workspace owner to press Reset beside your name under Two-step sign-in on Users & team; a manager can do it for office users and checkers, but only the owner can for a manager. If you are the owner and the codes are gone too, or you sign in to more than one workspace, contact DockLedger support.
Can I stop typing the two-step code on my own computer?
Yes. After you type the code, DockLedger asks "Trust this device?". Press Trust for 30 days (or the number your workspace allows) and that browser skips the code until then. Your owner or manager can choose 7, 90 or Never under Two-step sign-in on Users & team. Only do it on a computer or phone that is yours. To stop trusting one, open Settings, Profile and press Forget beside it, or Forget all. A new password still asks for the code.
Why did the board not update?
It should have: every console screen updates within moments of a change, and checks again every minute in case the connection has gone to sleep. If a tab has been in the background for a long time, reload it and it catches up. If it keeps happening, check dockledger.app/status, then press Help and tell us which screen.
Why is a person shown at the wrong slot?
Live view puts a person at the slot they last scanned, counted or put away at, not where they are standing now. Nobody wears a tag, so between scans the dot stays where the last scan was, with how long ago beside it. If the slot itself looks wrong, check the label on the rack matches the slot on the plan: a run drawn with the wrong aisle letter, or bays numbered per side, puts every scan in that aisle in the wrong place.
